Much information is available on how to handle and care for a horse. Our hands-on approach provides instruction and practice based on current, safe techniques. Schedule the amount of time that you need to feel comfortable and confident interacting with horses and performing daily tasks. School horses are available at no extra cost.

You can choose whether to learn this information privately or invite 2 or 3 family members or friends to join you. Cost depends on the length of the session – at $50 per hour.

Note: For your safety and to anticipate horse behavior, it is recommended that you have an understanding of a horse’s flight and herd instincts. This information is covered in the seminar: The Basics of Owning a Horse.

Design your own experience:
Choose from the following list and add your own topics

Safely getting a horse from a stall
Correctly haltering a horse
Leading a horse safely
Tie-ing a horse
Picking out a horse’s feet
Grooming before riding
Cutting the bridle path and trimming face and ears
How to tell if a horse is hot and how to cool him down
Grooming after riding
Returning a horse to the stall

Following your horse journey through buying, owning, and care, you might want to begin ground work instruction and riding lessons – using our school horses or your own.   Click on ground work and riding lessons for more information.
